EV Share Hub is a peer-to-peer EV charger sharing marketplace built for Finland, currently in testing — connecting private charger owners with drivers, the way Airbnb connected spare rooms with travelers.
The problem we saw
Public EV charging in Finland is expensive and concentrated in a handful of cities — while thousands of privately owned chargers sit unused for most of the day. Drivers juggle a different app for every operator, with no unified pricing or advance booking.
Meanwhile, the person who installed a home or workplace charger has no way to earn anything back from it. The asset just sits there, depreciating.
What we built
EV Share Hub connects that idle supply directly to the drivers who need it. Hosts list a charger, set a price, and connect an existing wallbox over OCPP 1.6 so the app handles remote access — no hardware from us, no key handovers, no manual coordination. Drivers search, book, navigate, and pay end to end in one app.
It's the same marketplace mechanic that made Airbnb and Turo work, applied to the specific technical needs of EV charging: connector compatibility, session-based metering, and remote access control.

164,705 battery EVs were on Finland's roads at the end of 2025, inside a wider plug-in fleet of 351,744 vehicles — 13% of the entire car fleet — and BEVs reached 49% of new registrations in H1 2026, after every purchase and installation subsidy had been withdrawn.
Carbon-neutral by 2035
Finland is targeting carbon neutrality by 2035 — ahead of every other country in Europe — putting real policy weight behind a shift to electric transport.
1.36 million homes with nowhere to charge
48% of Finnish households live in apartment buildings where installing a private charger simply isn't an option — while the detached and terraced housing around them holds a large wallbox base that sits idle roughly twenty hours a day. That mismatch is exactly the gap a peer-to-peer marketplace is built to fill.
